Laminated glass is held in place by an inter-layer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) or Santry Glas Plus (SGP), between its two or more layers of glass. The inter-layer keeps the layers of glass bonded together even the glass is damaged or broken. Laminated glass can greatly increase the rate of sound insulation. It can block up to 99.9% of the UV rays and has also better resistance for shock, burglary, burst and bullets. Therefor, it is widely used in architectural applications, automotive windshield, storefront, aquarium, skylight, high view platform and specially SGP inter-layer prevents laminated glass from disintegrating even when broken, in other words, the broken glass remains erect. It is widely used in the places requiring higher safety and security.
